In Moldova, tariffs for electricity for end consumers have been sharply increased, which will come into force on November 4.
In particular, according to the decision taken by the National Agency for Energy Regulation, for residential consumers of Premier Energy, whose electrical installations are connected to low voltage distribution networks (0.4 kW), the tariff has been increased by 51.4% - from 3.15 to 4 .77 lei/kWh without VAT. At the same time, for Premier Energy end consumers, whose electrical installations are connected to high voltage distribution networks (35; 110 kW), the tariff will increase by 54.1% - from 2.81 to 4.43 lei / kWh, and for consumers, electrical installations of which are connected to medium voltage distribution networks (6; 10 kW) - by 60.4% - from 2.68 to 4.3 lei/kWh. Herewith, for the end users of the company Furnizarea Energiei Electrice Nord (FEE Nord), whose electrical installations are connected to low voltage distribution networks (0.4 kW), the tariff has been increased by almost 50% - from 3.21 to 4.81 lei/kWh without VAT, and for consumers whose electrical installations are connected to medium voltage distribution networks (6; 10 kW), the tariff is increased by 60.9% - from 2.61 to 4.2 lei / kWh. The new tariffs will come into force on November 4 after the publication of the NAER decision in Monitorul Oficial. According to NAER, the main reasons for the forced adjustment of prices for electricity sold to consumers were: interruption of contracts for the purchase of electricity from Ukraine; the refusal of Moldavskaya GRES to extend the contract for the supply of electricity to right-bank Moldova and the complete cessation of supplies from November 1; reorientation of the purchase of volumes of about 80% of the required electricity from the European market. A significant increase in the price of electricity purchased in Europe directly affects the calculated average price. Thus, the average purchase price of imported electricity for 10 months this year was about $62/MWh, and according to the latest contracts, the price of imported electricity is about $177/MWh. Meanwhile, due to shortages during peak consumption hours, the transport system operator Moldelectrica resorted to an emergency contract with the transport system operator in Romania - TRANSELECTRICA. The cost of energy purchased under this contract ranges from $190 to $348 per MWh. // 02.11.2022 - InfoMarket
