The Moldovan government has implemented over 90% of the reforms required to receive the next tranche of EU funding under the Growth Plan - Alexandru Munteanu

The Prime Minister of Moldova made this announcement during a meeting with EU Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos during his participation in the World Economic Forum in Davos. The two discussed the Moldovan government's measures to accelerate economic growth and progress toward EU accession. "The support we receive from our partners gives us confidence that our European path is not in vain and that our efforts will lead to the fulfillment of our desire to join the EU – for the sake of peace, for the sake of all citizens," the Prime Minister said. During the meeting, Marta Kos praised the progress in implementing two components of the Growth Plan: the Reform Program and the Investment Attraction Program. It was noted that the government has implemented over 90% of the reforms required to receive the next tranche of EU funding, and a summary report is expected to be submitted to the European Commission by the end of January. Finance Minister Andrian Gavrilită previously noted that Moldova plans to receive approximately €300 million from the European Union this year under the Economic Growth Plan. He recalled that the total amount of EU funding under this Growth Plan is €1.9 billion, while Moldova is expected to receive €1.5 billion in concessional loans and €400 million in grants from the EU Reform and Growth Fund. The loans will be disbursed in semi-annual tranches between 2025 and 2027, depending on the fulfillment of the obligations set out in the reform program. Andrian Gavrilită noted that the Moldovan government must submit to the European Union all documentation on the results of reform implementation over the previous six months by February 1, 2026, and that the authorities can expect to receive the next tranche starting March 1. // 21.01.2026 — InfoMarket
