The government adopted this decision at an extraordinary meeting on Tuesday. Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu stated that the current events in the energy sector are no accident, and that Russia's attacks on Ukraine's civilian energy infrastructure have also impacted Moldova, as the overnight strikes led to the shutdown of the main power line supplying Moldova—the Vulcanesti-Isaccea line.
