Former adviser to the President of Moldova on economic issues, Veaceslav Negruta, has been appointed adviser to the National Bank of Moldova.
He will be responsible for facilitating the negotiation process on Moldova’s accession to the European Union. This information was confirmed to the InfoMarket agency by the National Bank, emphasizing that the NBM plays an important role in the negotiation process for Moldova’s accession to the EU, being responsible for sections relating to the free movement of capital, the financial sector, monetary and economic policy. “In this sense, the experience of Veaceslav Negruta is valuable. In his career, he held important positions, including the position of Minister of Finance of Moldova. He worked as an economist and consultant for World Bank projects and served as Director of the Monetary Policy Department of the NBM. In addition, Veaceslav Negruta has extensive experience in the NGO sector, he contributed to such organizations as the Independent Analytical Center Expert-Grup, the Center for Analysis and Evaluation of Reforms, Transparency International Moldova,” the National Bank emphasized. It is worth noting that on April 26, the President of Moldova signed a decree releasing Veaceslav Negruta from the post of presidential adviser in the economic field, starting on April 29, based on his resignation. He has worked in the presidential office since December 2020. According to the declaration of income and personal interests, in the presidency Veaceslav Negruta earned more than 341.5 thousand lei in 2023. He earned another 31.1 thousand lei as a member of the administrative board of the State Enterprise Moldatsa. His wife earned 524.8 thousand lei from the Office for the Administration of External Assistance Programs (OGPAE).
