The EU4BordersSecurity – Moldova project has been launched in Moldova to improve border security and speed up customs controls with the support of the EU
The project aims to strengthen border security, optimize procedures, and introduce modern technologies for managing migration and cross-border movement. The EU4Borders Security – Moldova project is funded by the European Union and implemented by the Moldovan Border Police and a consortium formed by the Central Project Management Agency (CPVA), the Solidarity Fund PL, and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Moldova. The EU4Borders Security – Moldova project supports the Moldovan government in bringing border and migration management in line with EU standards and the Schengen acquis, contributing to preparations for EU accession and the creation of a border system that is more resilient to current security challenges. These efforts are important steps towards a secure and modern European border in line with the provisions of Chapter 24 “Justice, Freedom and Security” of the EU accession process. The project supports Moldova in adopting European practices and rules in the field of border and migration management to create a more efficient, secure and modern border. Ruslan Galusca, Head of the General Directorate of Border Police of Moldova, and other experts emphasized that digital solutions and modern equipment can enhance security, facilitate the movement of people and goods, and at the same time ensure respect for human rights. During the first meeting of the project's Steering Committee, national authorities and international partners identified the main areas for implementation and coordination of planned activities. // 23.01.2026 — InfoMarket.
