Maib has participated in Vienna, at the invitation of the Vienna Insurance Group and Donaris VIG, in an event celebrating the Republic of Moldova and the Moldovan-Austrian partnership

At the invitation of the Vienna Insurance Group (VIG) and Donaris VIG, maib participated in an event in Vienna organized to mark the unveiling of the monumental installation “Your Happiness is in Your Own Hands,” created by Moldovan artist Pavel Brăila on the iconic facade of the Ringturm building. The event served as a tribute to the Republic of Moldova and a celebration of the strong ties between the Republic of Moldova and Austria, highlighting how culture, investment, and economic cooperation collectively contribute to promoting the country’s image in Europe.

The installation “Your Happiness is in Your Own Hands” transformed the facade of the Ringturm building into a platform for promoting contemporary Moldovan culture in the heart of Vienna for the coming months. The opening ceremony was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova, Eugeniu Osmochescu, who highlighted the strong relations between the Republic of Moldova and Austria and the contribution of Austrian investments to the development of strategic sectors, including banking, financial, and insurance services. The project offers the Republic of Moldova significant visibility within Europe and demonstrates that art can build bridges for dialogue, collaboration, and economic development.
For nearly three years, maib, Donaris VIG, and Vienna Insurance Group have been developing a strategic partnership built around a common goal: offering integrated banking and insurance experiences tailored to customers’ needs. The results of this collaboration are already evident in the maib digital ecosystem. Through the maibank app, customers have access to loans accompanied by insurance, as well as MTPL and Green Card policies, in a fully digital experience that saves time and simplifies access to protection solutions.

The success of this collaboration model has also been recognized internationally. Maib was named by Global Finance as the winner of the “Top Financial Innovation – Bancassurance” award for Central and Eastern Europe, a distinction that confirms the value of integrating banking and insurance services developed jointly with Donaris VIG and the Vienna Insurance Group, as well as their impact on the customer experience.

Peter Höfinger, Vice President of Vienna Insurance Group and Head of Operations for the Republic of Moldova, stated:
“VIG has been operating in Moldova for 12 years through its group company, Donaris, and recently became the market leader following the acquisition of Moldasig. The Moldovan insurance market is currently in a phase of development. As a trusted partner to the business community and society, our goal is to stimulate the growth of the local market and strengthen its resilience. We are delighted to be able to offer Moldova such a special event in the form of this year’s Ringturm building wrap.”

Aliona Stratan, First Vice President of maib, stated:
“At maib, the customer experience is at the heart of every decision we make. We aim to simplify our customers’ interaction with financial services and provide them with access to the solutions they need, when they need them. The partnership with Donaris VIG allows us to integrate relevant insurance services directly into maibank, saving time and offering greater convenience for our customers. We are grateful to the teams at Donaris VIG and Vienna Insurance Group for the trust, professionalism, and collaboration that underpin this successful partnership.”

Andrei Plămădeală, Chief Financial Officer of Donaris VIG, noted:
“The partnership with maib is an example of how leading companies in the banking and insurance sectors can collaborate to create real value for customers. Together, we are developing simple and accessible solutions that make insurance products easier to use and help increase the level of financial protection in the Republic of Moldova.”
Maib’s participation in this event reflects the belief that sustainable development is built through partnerships that go beyond the commercial dimension. When finance, culture, and art come together, they create contexts that inspire, bring people closer, and encourage best practices, collaboration, and trust. Through such initiatives, maib contributes to strengthening relations between the Republic of Moldova and its European partners and to developing an ecosystem that generates value for customers, the economy, and society.
