The Moldovan HPP is increasing electricity production after the settled gas supply issue.
The head of Transnistria, Vadim Krasnoselsky, announced this, noting that the region receives Russian gas in sufficient volumes, and the Moldovan HPP, after the settled gas issue, intends to increase the production of electricity. “The gas problem has been resolved. Gas is supplied in volumes sufficient to fully cover existing needs, including those related to heat supply. Four units are fully operational at the Moldovan HPP. It is necessary to increase the production of electricity in order to make up for the October underproduction. By the middle of the week, all industrial enterprises, which were temporarily transferred to the regime of energy saving, will return to normal conditions,” Vadim Krasnoselsky wrote on his page on the social network. Earlier, during the gas crisis, the Moldovan HPP warned that it could reduce the supply of electricity to the right bank of the Dniester due to a decrease in gas supplies, which happened. Under these conditions, Moldova was forced to significantly increase imports of Ukrainian electricity in order to compensate for the shortfalls in supplies from the Moldovan HPP. At the same time, it was reported that Moldova does not pay Ukraine with money for this electricity, and this is not about buying and selling it, but about a kind of loan of physical volumes of electricity for their subsequent return to the energy system of the neighboring country, when the situation in Moldova stabilizes and the electricity generating capacity increases. As InfoMarket agency reported earlier, the Moldovan (Dnestrovsk) for 9 months in 2021, relative to the same period in 2020, increased electricity production by 4.9% - up to 3 billion 650.9 kWh. // 02.11.2021 - InfoMarket
