Energocom will buy 290,000 MWh from the Moldavskaya GRES located in the Transnistrian region, which accounts for 92% of the electricity needs of the right bank of the Nistru River, the state company said in a statement. The purchase price for this electricity is $66/MWh and was agreed last month for six months. Energocom will buy the remaining volumes of electricity from the Ukrainian company Ukrhydroenergo, the preliminary total volume is 30,000 MWh. Its price is $95 per MWh during the daytime and $55 per MWh at nighttime. This is the first contract signed by Energocom that sets different prices for daytime and nighttime. As noted, Romanian company SN Nuclearelectrica is carrying out scheduled maintenance work in May.
