114 solar panels were installed on the building of the Presidential Administration of Moldova, the cost of the project was $103.6 thousand.
On Friday, a solemn opening ceremony of a solar power plant was held on the roof of the presidency, which will partially meet the electricity needs of the presidency. The photovoltaic system was installed with the support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the British Embassy in Moldova as part of the Moldova Energy Security Project (MESA). According to preliminary estimates, a system of solar panels with a capacity of 62.70 kWh will produce about 70 thousand kWh of environmental electricity annually, covering about 15% of the annual energy consumption of the presidential complex. In the future, the project will be expanded with the installation of an additional solar panel system with a capacity of approximately 117 kW, which will strengthen the energy independence of the institution, producing approximately 45% of the total annual electricity consumption. It is worth noting that the installation of a photovoltaic system on the roof of the presidential complex is part of a broader USAID initiative, collectively known as #MoldovaConectata, under which USAID is investing more than $300 million to improve Moldova's energy stability and resilience, closer interconnection with European electricity grids, and more active integration of energy from renewable sources and reduction of dependence on external sources. // 05.07.2024 — InfoMarket
