The National Center for Sustainable Energy has launched an interactive digital platform to monitor the renewable energy sector in Moldova

Specifically, the National Center for Sustainable Energy announced the creation of a digital platform designed to monitor and analyze the development of renewable energy generation capacity in Moldova. This initiative is part of the institution’s efforts to increase transparency and accessibility of relevant information in the energy sector through digitalization. The platform is a modern analytical tool designed to provide interactive visualization and easy access to up-to-date data on the development of the renewable energy sector. It integrates relevant information in a user-friendly format and allows users to track the dynamics of installed capacity growth, providing a clear picture of development trends at both the national and regional levels. “With this platform, we are transforming complex technical data into a resource accessible to everyone. We are launching not just a website, but a decision-making tool: now any investor or citizen can see in real time where and how green energy is developing in Moldova. “The digitalization of the sector means, above all, transparency,” said Ion Muntean, Director of the National Center for Sustainable Energy. According to him, the platform is structured so that users can first view an overview of aggregated data at the national level and then, using special submenus, proceed to a detailed analysis. By interactively applying various combinations of filters, the end user can: segment data by technology used (solar, wind, biogas, hydropower) and support mechanism applied; analyze the dynamics of installed capacity over time, tracking the sector’s development during a selected time period; visualize development at the regional level, with access to disaggregated data and statistics specific to each region; locate renewable energy generation facilities on an interactive map; distinguish between categories of producers, with the ability to separately analyze data related to large renewable energy producers and data related to prosumers (consumers who also generate electricity), including their dynamics and geographical distribution; create personalized datasets by analyzing disaggregated data to support research or investment planning. Thanks to this digital solution, users—including government agencies, investors, experts, and the general public—can access structured data that facilitates sector analysis and supports evidence-based decision-making. At the same time, the platform will contribute to a better understanding of the progress made in the use of renewable energy sources and their impact on the energy system. The platform’s development aims to promote the use of modern information tools and support the digitalization of the energy sector. By providing accessible and up-to-date data, the National Center for Sustainable Energy contributes to creating a more transparent and predictable environment for investment in this field. The platform is in its initial launch phase, so some adjustments may be made during the process. The data presented on the platform is official and has been collected by relevant institutions and authorities in the energy sector. The National Center for Sustainable Energy calls on all stakeholders in the renewable energy sector—producers, prosumers, suppliers, and other interested parties—to support efforts to ensure data transparency in order to improve the quality of public policy and decision-making based on reliable information. To ensure an optimal user experience, the platform is available in both desktop and mobile versions, adapted for quick access and intuitive navigation on any type of device. // 09.04.2026 - InfoMarket
