Premier Energy Distribution networks registered record electricity consumption in January amid low temperatures and increased use of electric heating systems

As reported by Premier Energy Distribution, in January 2026, total electricity consumption in its network reached 365,246 MWh, which is approximately 17.6% more than in January 2025 and almost 15% more than in January 2024. Important maximum values were also recorded: maximum daily consumption – 13,217 MWh, maximum hourly consumption – 680 MWh. The highest values were recorded in the evening, when household consumption increased significantly. This trend has continued in February.
