Apă-Canal Chișinău has sent the National Agency for Energy Regulation (NAER) an updated request to increase the water tariff by 34%, to 14.46 lei per cubic meter
Previously, the company asked NAER to increase water prices for Chisinau consumers by 32.8%, from 10.79 to 14.33 lei per cubic meter. According to Apă-Canal Chișinău, its earlier tariff calculation did not include some of the company's expenses, including those related to debt service to the EBRD on investment loans. Earlier, Apă-Canal Chișinău noted that the last time the water tariff was approved was in 2023, and if it remains in place, the company will not be able to fulfill its current financial obligations. It was reported that Apă-Canal Chisinau estimates that Moldova’s expenses will increase to 963.3 million lei in 2025, exceeding by 258.5 million lei (+36.7%) the expenses included in the current tariff. //19.02.2025 – InfoMarket
