The government has allocated an additional 17 million lei for the construction of a water supply system for 11 settlements in the Prut River floodplain
This was announced during a visit by Prime Minister Dorin Recean to the construction site of a complex to provide drinking water to settlements in the Prut River floodplain, which was started in 2010 but has not been completed for various reasons. To complete the investment and put the facility into operation, the government has allocated an additional 17 million lei through the Budget +PLUS program. The initiative aims to provide access to drinking water for approximately 15 thousand residents of 11 villages: Obileni, Cotul Morii, Sarateni, Leuseni, Feteasca, Nemteni, Cateleni, Ivanovca, Onesti, Strimbeni, and Bujor. The project involves taking water from the Prut River, treating it, and distributing it through an interconnected network of pumping stations and storage tanks. To date, the cost of the work carried out is approximately 73.7 million lei. Additional funds recently allocated under the Budget +PLUS program will be used to modernize the water intake, adjust the filtration equipment, carry out final adjustments, and implement an automation system. The head of the Cabinet emphasized that ensuring access to drinking water is one of the government's priorities for creating better conditions for residents. // 16.05.2025 — InfoMarket
