According to the National Health Insurance Company, this amount was transferred to pharmacies with which contracts for the supply of medicines with compensation have been concluded. Of the total amount, 102 million lei was allocated for the reimbursement of medicines, of which 50 million lei was for the treatment of circulatory system diseases (118,000 patients). Another 34 million lei went to reimburse medicines for the treatment of endocrine system diseases, eating disorders, and metabolic disorders (69,000 patients). The average cost of reimbursed drugs per recipient was 639 lei. In September, the most expensive treatment with reimbursed drugs was for diseases of the skin and subcutaneous tissue, with an average cost of 1,173 lei per patient. In addition, more than 6.8 million lei – 17% more than in September last year – from the mandatory health insurance funds was allocated to reimburse medical devices, which were used by 26,000 people.
