
Balti hosted the opening of the largest regional center for innovation and technological transformation - Nortek.
According to the press service of the government, the volume of investments in the construction and equipment of the Nortek center amounted to 71.5 million lei, of which 25 million lei were funds allocated by the government through the Regional Development Agency "North", 29.5 million lei - the contribution of the State University named after Alecu Russo (Balti), and 17 million lei - the contribution of strategic development partners - USAID, Sweden and the UK. It is noted that funds from external partners were used to develop a feasibility study, design and equip the center. Besides, additional investments are expected from the Association of IT Companies (ATIC) through Tekwill-Balti, the Balti Free Economic Zone through the Dräxlmaier Group, as well as from Endava and the Orange Foundation. According to the government press service, the area of the Nortek center exceeds 6,000 square meters. The center offers access to high-performance technologies in the field of robotics, artificial intelligence, digital manufacturing, and cybersecurity. It provides premises for laboratories and business incubators for almost 4,500 students, young professionals, entrepreneurs and future businessmen from Balti and the northern region of the country.// 02.12.2022 — InfoMarket
