The new government’s main priorities will be accelerated economic development, attracting investment, and supporting socially vulnerable groups - Alexandru Munteanu

This was stated by the candidate for Prime Minister, who is to be nominated by the ruling Action and Solidarity Party (PAS). Alexandru Munteanu said that, first and foremost, he wants to focus on economic development and is interested in aspects related to the economic bloc, the opinions of economists, experts, civil society, chambers of commerce, and economic agents. “I want to get into the rhythm as soon as possible and... start, if not in fifth gear, then at least in third,” said Alexandru Munteanu. The candidate for Prime Minister also announced his intention to create expert groups and focus groups in ministries to make effective use of all opinions and ideas that could contribute to Moldova's development. He added that economic development and improving living standards should be a common goal for all political forces, regardless of their views. “Who can be against economic growth? I think even those parties and voters who did not support the PAS program agree that tomorrow our country should live better than today. And today we are already living a little better than yesterday. We must continue in the same spirit,” said Alexandru Munteanu. The candidate stressed that he is not politically biased, but supports the course chosen by the party that won the election and fully shares Moldova's European path, and the new government will undertake important reforms to prepare Moldova for EU accession. According to him, the new government's program will also include an important social component, which is part of the hopes and aspirations of the majority of our citizens. Alexandru Munteanu admitted that he has three citizenships: Moldovan, Romanian, and American. As the founder of the French Alliance in Moldova, he was offered French citizenship, but he refused, deciding that it was “too much.” // 21.10.2025 — InfoMarket
