ANRE and the US Embassy discussed the potential impact of US sanctions against Russian companies Rosneft and Lukoil on regional and domestic markets and the need to identify alternative sources and ways of supplying Moldova with petroleum products
According to the energy regulator, this was discussed during a working meeting held by the director of the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE), Eugen Carpov, with representatives of the US Embassy in our country. According to ANRE, the discussions covered current issues in the energy sector, Moldovan-American cooperation and events in the region, the contribution of the US authorities to ensuring energy supply stability, including the recent sanctions imposed by the US on the Russian companies Rosneft and Lukoil. Eugen Carpov presented the logistics structure of the petroleum products market in Moldova, the existing import and distribution infrastructure, and the main regional sources of supply. The parties exchanged views on the potential impact of sanctions on regional and domestic markets, as well as on the need to identify alternative sources and ways of supplying Moldova with petroleum products.
