The law on compensation of the difference in price for the consumption of natural gas / heat energy in the cold season came into force.

The law on compensation of the difference in price for the consumption of natural gas / heat energy in the cold season came into force.

The corresponding law was published in Monitorul Oficial on November 30. The document is aimed at supporting residential consumers during the cold season due to an increase in regulated prices for the supply of natural gas and tariffs for heat energy. The document describes the mechanism of compensation, stipulates the subjects and bodies empowered to calculate and pay compensation, the procedure for financing and the procedure for paying compensation. It is envisaged that residential consumers will be partially covered by the difference in tariffs for the first 150 cubic meters of natural gas and the first gigacalorie of heat. In particular, for the first consumed 50 cubic meters of gas per month compensate for 67% of the price difference due to the increase in regulated prices for the supply of natural gas, per 100 cubic meters, consumed in excess of the first 50 cubic meters of gas - 50% of the price difference. This compensation will be able to count, among other things, and associations of residents who have district, block or staircase heating boilers. At the same time, compensation for heat energy will amount to 67% of the amount of the difference between the price in the calculated month and the previous price in October 2021 for the consumed monthly volume of up to 1 gigacalor per one household consumer. The compensation will be calculated monthly by natural gas and heat suppliers. Invoices issued to household consumers will separately indicate the total amount for the services provided, the amount of compensation and the amount payable by each household consumer after recalculation. The calculation of compensation will be carried out from November 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022. According to preliminary calculations, compensation for gas will be received by 746 thousand household consumers, and for heat - 222 thousand consumers connected to the central heating system in Chisinau (Termoelectrica) and Balti (CET Nord). In general, more than 1 billion lei will be required to pay compensation in the cold period of 2021-2022. The funds required to compensate for the difference in prices within 5 months will amount to approximately 771 million lei for the consumption of natural gas and about 340 million lei for the consumption of heat. Herewith, 210 million lei have already been provided for in the course of adjusting the state budget for 2021, and 900 million lei were included in the draft Law on the State Budget for 2022. // 30.11.2021 — InfoMarket
