
Imports of energy resources to Moldova in 2021 in monetary terms amounted to $1 billion 071.98 million, up 1.8 times compared to 2020.
The National Bureau of Statistics reported that, in particular, in January-December 2021, compared to the same period of the previous year, imports of oil and oil products in value terms increased 1.7 times - up to $628.96 million, and natural gas and industrial products from gas - increased 2.2 times - up to $417.34 million. Deliveries of coal, coke and briquettes over the same period increased by 16.5% - up to $17.94 million. The share of mineral fuel in the total volume of Moldovan imports in 2021 amounted to 14.94% against 10.9% a year earlier. Electricity imports amounted to $7.74 million, which is 19% less than in 2020. Imports of energy resources ranked 3rd in the overall structure of product supplies to Moldova in 2021.
