Italy will provide Moldova with at least 5 million euros for the Energy Vulnerability Reduction Fund

As reported by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, this was stated by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy Edmondo Cirielli at a meeting with Minister of Labor and Social Protection Alexei Buzu, who was on an official visit to Italy this week. The money, according to Alexei Buzu, will be used to pay compensation to household consumers until the end of the heating season. At the same time, during the visit, the Moldovan minister held talks on the ratification of the Social Security Agreement between Moldova and Italy. The Italian parliament is expected to begin the ratification process soon: the Senate is to approve the bill on April 2, after which the Chamber of Deputies is to approve it in the final reading. The Social Security Agreement between Moldova and Italy regulates a wide range of social benefits: old-age pension, disability pension due to illness or accident at work, survivor's pension. Ratification of the agreement by the Italian side will allow Moldovan citizens working in both countries to accumulate periods of contribution. In addition, Moldovan citizens entitled to Italian pensions and residing in Moldova will no longer have to travel to Italy to receive them. The Moldovan Parliament ratified this agreement on November 28, 2024. // 21.02.2025 — InfoMarket
