Citizens returning to live in Moldova will be able to bring into the country duty-free personal cars with engine volume up to 2,500 cc.

This is provided for by the relevant amendments to the customs and fiscal policy for 2023, developed by the Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Economy, Budget and Finance Radu Marian and Chairman of the Commission on Social Protection, Health and Family Dan Perciun. Previously, it was provided that citizens who decided to return to Moldova from abroad could bring into the country duty free personal car with a period of up to 9 years from the date of manufacture, whose customs value does not exceed 400 thousand lei and whose engine capacity is 2000 cc. It is stipulated that the vehicles imported in duty free regime can not be sold, pledged, donated, given into possession or used within 3 years. The vehicle must not have any visible defects and/or damage as a result of an accident and the vehicle must not be intended for commercial or industrial activities. The Economy, Budget and Finance Commission approved the report on the corresponding bill with amendments to tax and customs policy for 2023, and will propose to approve it in the plenary session of Parliament. // 15.02.2023 – InfoMarket
