The total amount of foreign loans to support the Moldovan 2022 budget will be reduced by 1 billion 563.1 million lei (-7.6%) to 18 billion 950.5 million lei.

This is stated in the materials of the Ministry of Finance to the draft amendments to the Law on State Budget for 2022, which will soon be considered and approved by the government. As noted, the reduction from the previously approved amount (20 billion 513.7 million lei) was caused by 221.6 million lei reduction of loans for budget support and 1 billion 341.5 million lei reduction of loans for projects funded from external sources. The decrease of the budget support financing in lei (MDL) is explained by the revaluation of the exchange rate and the decrease, in this regard, of the incoming funds of the EU macro-financial assistance by 69.8 million lei and the financial assistance of the Polish government by 44 million lei, funds of the World Bank for the project "Health Sector Modernization" by 18.2 million lei, the project "Fiscal Administration Modernization" (TAMP) - by 0.4 million lei and the reduction of the financial assistance of the French Development Agency - by 109.1 million lei and the IMF program - by 44.2 million lei. At the same time, the World Bank's financing within the Development Policy Operation Project (DPO) will increase by 48.9 million lei and the financing of the European Investment Bank for the Moldovan railway infrastructure and rolling stock project will increase by 15.2 million lei. //23.08.2022 - InfoMarket.
