The Government supports the creation of the Moldova HiTech Park, an advanced technology park that will require investments of 200 million euros for its development.
The Cabinet of Ministers gave a positive opinion on the legislative initiative to create Moldova HiTech Park, a national project aimed at accelerating economic development through innovation, digitalization and cooperation between the public, private and academic sectors. The Park will be located in Stauceni on an area of 50 hectares, near Chisinau, and will operate under a special legal regime established by law. Its territory will be developed as a "smart city" - with modern offices, laboratories, university campuses, residential buildings and conference centers. This Park will become a bridge between education, science, business and the economy. Through partnerships with the Technical University of Moldova and the State University of Medicine and Pharmacy "Nicolae Testemitanu", specialists in engineering, IT and medical research - the most important areas for the economy of the future - will be trained. The goal of this business ecosystem is to attract investment, create high-paying jobs and connect education with the economy. According to the authors of the bill, by 2052 HiTech Park will bring in almost $1.3 billion in revenue, it will have more than 21.6 thousand jobs for specialists in IT, engineering, scientific research and other sectors with high added value. About 15 thousand specialists will be trained on this platform in the next 10 years. The project will be developed in stages, starting with construction and organizational work, which will take about 5 years. The bill must be approved by parliament. // 18.06.2025 — InfoMarket.
