The European Commissioner for financial services and the savings and investment union announced this at a meeting in Chisinau with Prime Minister Dorin Recean. According to the Cabinet of Ministers' press service, the parties discussed deepening Moldova's economic and financial cooperation with the European Union in the context of the European integration process and reforms aimed at modernizing the national economy. Dorin Recean emphasized the importance of attracting long-term investment and strengthening the financial market as key prerequisites for the country's sustainable development. He noted that Moldova is undergoing an active transformation. "Justice reform is the foundation of all other reforms, and the rule of law is what encourages people to invest," the Prime Minister stated. Maria Luis Albuquerque reaffirmed the full support of European institutions for the development of a modern, competitive, and sustainable financial sector in Moldova. She also praised the authorities' ongoing efforts to improve the standard of living of citizens. During the meeting, the parties also discussed the need to restructure risk management mechanisms in the financial sector, develop investment instruments, and stimulate public participation in the capital market. During her visit to Chisinau, the European Commissioner for financial services and the savings and investment union participated in the international conference "Finance and economic growth: lessons for Moldova's European path," organized by the National Bank of Moldova.
