France may support the implementation of new infrastructure modernization projects in Moldova
This was discussed during a meeting held between Moldovan President Maia Sandu, Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu, and a delegation of French entrepreneurs visiting Chisinau as part of the Moldova-France business mission organized by the Moldovan Investment Agency in cooperation with Business France, the Moldovan-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the diplomatic missions of both countries. During the dialogue, the parties discussed the possibility of France's participation in supporting transport infrastructure projects, particularly the development of the railway sector and urban transport. Maia Sandu noted that it is important for Moldova to transform its excellent political relations with France into economic cooperation with concrete results. "We highly appreciate the trust French investors have placed in our country. We are actively working toward joining the European Union, a process that makes us even more attractive to investment," the head of state stated. According to Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu, Moldovan-French cooperation is important for the implementation of projects that can offer effective and sustainable solutions for citizens and promote economic development. These include projects to modernize infrastructure and adapt cities to modern mobility needs. Representatives of the French delegation noted that urban mobility projects can be implemented within a few years with effective planning and clear coordination, and that French companies possess the necessary expertise to design and implement modern urban transport systems. Furthermore, opportunities for collaboration in the analysis and preparation stages of such initiatives were discussed, including through financing and knowledge transfer. // 18.03.2026 —InfoMarket.
