Moldova and Romania intend to expand economic cooperation and launch a number of new joint projects, including in the IT sector
This was discussed during a meeting between Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu and Romanian Minister of Economy Irineu Darău. The dialogue focused on Moldovan-Romanian economic cooperation and relations between the two countries. During the discussions, Alexandru Munteanu expressed gratitude for the prompt support provided by Romania in combating pollution in the Dniester River: Romanian teams joined the effort from day one, participating in the installation of flood barriers and providing the necessary materials to mitigate the effects of the pollution. Officials discussed expanding economic cooperation and launching joint projects, particularly in the IT sector. Among the priorities are the development of a digital wallet, ensuring data interoperability, continuing the digitization of public services, and exchanging expertise on creating an attractive environment for IT professionals and companies. Another area of mutual interest is tourism, highlighting the potential for developing joint tourist routes that would allow both countries to benefit from each other’s offerings.
