Moldova will continue negotiations with Gazprom in order to overcome any misunderstandings regarding the organization of the audit of Moldovagaz’s debts.
Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Andrei Spinu stated this while commenting on the Russian gas holding’s message of the day before, from which it follows that Moldova's unilateral approach to determining the terms of the tender for the purchase of Moldovagaz’s debt audit services contradicts the previous agreements reached in October 2021, and this may lead to the fact that the results of the audit will not be approved by the Supervisory Board of Moldovagaz. Andrei Spinu explained that the Moldovan side represents the minority shareholder - Moldova. “This is what we discussed in St. Petersburg, and this is mentioned in paragraph 5 of the Protocol of negotiations, signed by the parties on 29.10.2021, on organizing an independent audit of the debts of Moldovagaz to Gazprom and Factoring-Finance. Accordingly, based on the Law on Joint Stock Companies, the Government of Moldova adopted a resolution dated December 29, 2021 to conduct an independent audit of debts. The Public Property Agency is authorized to carry out the necessary procedures for the selection and organization of the process,” Vice Prime Minister said. According to him, the information was brought to the attention of the majority shareholder, Gazprom, which, contrary to the agreements, unilaterally convened a meeting of the Supervisory Board to approve the documentation for organizing the debt audit. “In the future, I will continue negotiations with Gazprom in order to overcome any misunderstandings on this issue,” Andrei Spinu said. // 09.02.2022 – InfoMarket
