The NAER decision on the approval of regulated prices for natural gas supplied by Moldovagaz to consumers was published in Monitorul Oficial.

The new rates come into effect retroactively and will be applied from 1 January. According to the document, the tariff for the supply of natural gas at the points of exit from the distribution of low-pressure networks (for residential consumers) has been increased from 10,196 to 14,060 lei per 1,000 cubic meters, excluding VAT (+37.9%). Thus, the cost of 1 cu. m of gas for household consumers, including VAT, will increase from 11.01 to 15.18 lei per one cubic meter. The gas tariff at exit points from the distribution of medium pressure networks increased from 8,586 to 12,450 lei per 1,000 cubic meters (+45%), and at high pressure exit points - from 8,268 to 12,132 lei per 1 thousand cubic meters (+46.7%). At the same time, the price for the supply of natural gas at the points of entry into the transmission networks of natural gas from January 1 was increased from 7,771 to 11,612 lei per 1 thousand cubic meters, and at exit points from transmission networks - from 8,059 to 11,919 lei per 1 thousand cubic meters, excluding VAT. The new tariffs were approved at a meeting of the National Agency for Energy Regulation on January 28 and will replace the regulated prices that were in effect since December 24 last year. It is worth noting that, according to the decision of the Commission for Emergency Situations, the Moldovan government compensates the difference in the price of gas to household consumers in the amount of up to 150 cubic meters, and non-domestic consumers - 500 cubic meters. In particular, residential consumers are compensated 79.8% of the difference resulting from the price increase for the first 50 cubic meters consumed per month, and for the next 100 cubic meters used - 69.5% of the difference, so that the price they pay for gas will remain at the level of 6.8 lei per 1 cu. m. for the first 50 cubic meters and, accordingly, 7.9 lei per 1 cu. m., for the next 100 cubic meters. Non-domestic consumers are compensated for the first 500 cubic meters with 100% of the difference between the regulated price for the supply of natural gas in the billing month and the corresponding price in December 2021. Government assistance will be provided retroactively, starting from January 1, and will be provided in February and March of the current year. To compensate for the price difference for non-residential consumers after the last increase in natural gas tariffs, 60 million lei will be allocated from the Government Intervention Fund. // 04.02.2022 — InfoMarket
