Moldovagaz, according to reconciliation acts, is responsible for the historical $720 million gas debt of the consumers on the right bank of the Dniester, including penalties.

Vadim Ceban, Chairman of the Board of Moldovagaz, announced this, noting that the corresponding debt includes, among other things, the debt from 1994, to which Moldovagaz has no direct relationship, since then such an enterprise did not yet exist, and it became assignee of this debt. Vadim Ceban explained that, according to the reconciliation acts, Moldovagaz has 2 creditors: Gazprom, to which the debt is about $445 million, and Factoring-Finance, to which the debt is $275 million, including penalties. “That is, there is $120 million - the main body of the debt that stretches from the 1994 contract, and a penalty of $155 million. This is the debt that needs to be sorted out; a way must be found to settle it. As for the $445 million debt directly to Gazprom, I think we will find sources for paying this debt over a certain period of time. But as far as Factoring-Finance is concerned, we will have to work on it," the head of Moldovagaz stressed. // 09.02.2022 – InfoMarket
