The water tariff for Apă-Canal Chișinău consumers may be increased by NAER by 20.3% - up to 12.98 lei per cubic meter.

The water tariff for Apă-Canal Chișinău consumers may be increased by NAER by 20.3% - up to 12.98 lei per cubic meter.

This follows from the draft of the new tariff and the materials submitted by the National Agency for Energy Regulation following the examination of Apă-Canal Chișinău's request to increase water tariffs for consumers in the capital. It should be noted that the company initially asked NAER to increase the water tariff by 32.8% - from 10.79 lei to 14.33 lei per cubic meter, and then submitted a new request asking to increase it by 34% - up to 14.46 lei per cubic meter, including some previously unaccounted expenses for servicing the debt to the EBRD for investment loans. Earlier, Apă-Canal Chișinău noted that the water tariff was last approved in 2023, and if it remains at the current level, the company will not be able to meet its current financial obligations. It was reported that, according to Apă-Canal Chisinau estimates, in 2025 the company's expenses will increase to 963.3 million lei, which will exceed by 258.5 million lei (+36.7%) the expenses included in the current tariff, which is 10.79 lei per cubic meter. // 21.02.2025 — InfoMarket
