The 330 kV Chisinau power substation is being modernized by a consortium of Siemens Energy - Electromontaj - Energotech companies; the contract amount exceeds 11.88 million euros.

The Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development announced this, noting that this consortium won an international tender, which was attended by 8 more companies from different countries (Romania, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, India, Kazakhstan and China). The contract with the tender winner was signed on 18 January. According to the contract, the Siemens Energy-Electromontaj-Energotech consortium will be responsible for the design, supply and installation of the necessary equipment for the modernization of the power substation in Chisinau. The value of the contract is 11 million 883 thousand 842.98 euros, the implementation period is 32 months from the date of entry into force of the contract. The project supports a common program established by the Government of Moldova to asynchronously connect the country's electricity system to the single European electricity market through the European Network of Electricity Transmission System Operators, thereby improving the security of electricity supply and creating opportunities for the development of a competitive energy market both at the national and regional levels. Through the modernization of the Chisinau 330 kV power substation and the construction of a new transmission line, consumers will have reliable access to electricity at competitive rates, which will increase productivity and competitiveness in the market, create new jobs and ensure economic growth. The modernization of the Chisinau 330 kV power substation, as well as the construction of the 400 kV overhead transmission line in the direction of Vulcanesti - Chisinau, are carried out within the framework of the Electric Power System Development Project financed by the World Bank. // 19.01.2022- InfoMarket.
