The government approved a bill to increase the amount of compensation for heat energy for the population connected to the centralized heating system.
The legislative initiative, registered yesterday in the parliament, provides for the adjustment of the mechanism for compensating the difference in price due to the increase in regulated tariffs for heat. In particular, from January 1, 2022, compensation for each household consumer will be 80% of the price difference due to an increase in regulated heat energy tariffs for the monthly volume consumed up to 1.5 Gcal, and not 67% of the difference for monthly consumption up to 1 Gcal, as it is currently provided. This measure will help support consumers in the municipalities of Chisinau and Balti, who cannot regulate the volume of heat consumption in the conditions of a centralized heating system. According to the author of the project, starting from January, the maximum amount of compensation paid by the government for heat energy for the population connected to the centralized heating system will increase from 450 to 815 lei. As expected, the implementation of the proposed measures for 3 months of 2022 may require from 70 million to 300 million lei, depending on whether the tariff for heat energy increases. In addition, the project provides for an increase in the conditions for establishing and providing benefits for the cold season. In January-March 2022, it is proposed not to take into account movable and immovable property owned or used by the family. In addition, beneficiaries whose eligibility for cold weather assistance expired or expires between December 1, 2021 and February 28, 2022 will continue to receive support until the end of March of the current year. The government at a meeting on Wednesday gave a positive conclusion to this bill, noting that it is necessary to develop proposals for the redistribution of funds between budget spending programs, including possible amendments to the 2022 Budget Law. The bill is to be approved at a parliamentary session.// 19.01.2022- InfoMarket.
