The head of Moldovagaz, Vadim Ceban, unveiled a number of provisions of the agreement with Tiraspoltransgaz and refuted speculation that Moldovagaz had assumed a debt for gas supplied to consumers in Transnistria.

The head of Moldovagaz, Vadim Ceban, unveiled a number of provisions of the agreement with Tiraspoltransgaz and refuted speculation that Moldovagaz had assumed a debt for gas supplied to consumers in Transnistria.

At the same time, the Chairman of the Board of Moldovagaz noted a number of important points in his telegram channel. He explained that, in particular, under the contract between the Moldovagaz and Gazprom companies, natural gas is supplied to the entire territory of Moldova, and the Transnistrian region is an integral part of our country. The current structure of contractual relations with Gazprom has existed since the formation of JSC Moldovagaz in 1999. Gas supply to the Transnistrian region is not carried out directly by Moldovagaz, but is conditioned by the conclusion of an agreement between Tiraspoltransgaz and Moldovagaz. This contract provides for the conditions and terms of payment, as well as liability for non-performance of contractual relations. Vadim Ceban stressed that Moldovagaz supplies gas to the Tiraspoltransgaz company at the prices at which it receives this gas from Gazprom. The debt of Moldovagaz to Gazprom for gas supplied to consumers in Transnistria is equal to the debt of Tiraspoltransgaz to Moldovagaz. According to the terms of the agreement between Moldovagaz and Gazprom, in the event that Moldovagaz has a debt for gas supplied to Tiraspoltransgaz, the parties, on the basis of a written agreement, will take measures to transfer this debt to Tiraspoltransgaz. In this regard, there are written agreements between the parties, including at the government level. Vadim Ceban noted that the Moldovagaz company never recognized the debt to Gazprom for gas supplied to Transnistrian consumers, since the current contract provides for a mechanism for its settlement. The head of "Moldovagaz" also stressed that the tariff for end consumers of the right bank of Moldova has never included, does not include and will not include amounts of debt for gas supplied to consumers in Transnistria, there is a debtor for this debt. The difference in the price of gas supplies to Transnistria and the tariffs set by the authorities of the region for end consumers is the region's debt to the Tiraspoltransgaz company. “The issue of debts for gas supplied to Transnistrian consumers is purely commercial in nature, the solution of which is possible purely politically, and is not within the competence of the Moldovagaz board,” said Vadim Ceban. // 23.02.2022 — InfoMarket
