Prices for oil products in Moldova continue to grow due to a sharp rise in oil prices on international exchanges amid growing tensions in the region - ANRE.
The National Energy Regulatory Agency reported this, noting that against the backdrop of talks about the upcoming hostilities in Ukraine, the price of Brent crude oil today exceeded $96 per barrel, which is the highest level in 7.5 years. Platts quotes for the main oil products exceeded $910 per ton of gasoline and $820 per ton of diesel fuel, having increased by more than $250 per ton of gasoline and $220 per ton of diesel fuel, compared with early December 2021. ANRE notes that the forecasts for the near future are not encouraging. “Oil prices will remain overly volatile and sensitive to news about the situation in Ukraine. If the troops move, Brent crude will easily top $100 a barrel,” the profile analysis cited by Reuters said. ANRE notes that on February 15, it set the following maximum retail prices for standard petroleum products of the standard type: gasoline COR 95 - 23.93 lei/liter (+0.09 lei, compared to the previous day); diesel fuel without a commercial name - 20.81 lei/liter (+0.06 lei). ANRE assures consumers that the current standard-type pricing mechanism for basic petroleum products ensures fair, transparent and easily verifiable prices. They are affected only by events in the international market, and they exclude the possibility of oil companies intervening in the pricing process through unreasonable increases. // 14.02.2022 – InfoMarket
