Transnistria's debt for Russian natural gas has increased by almost half a billion dollars over the past 4 months.
In particular, from October 2021 to January 2022, the region consumed 732.38 million cubic meters of gas for $424.44 million, but did not pay a cent for it to Gazprom. This is evidenced by the data published in the media by "Moldovagaz" on the natural gas received by the company "Tiraspoltransgaz", which provides gas supplies to the Transnistrian region. According to them, in October 2021, the Transnistrian operator received 122.7 million cubic meters of gas at a price of $800.6 per 1 thousand cubic meters by $98.24 million, in November - 185.96 million cubic meters at a price of $485.4 for $90.26 million, in December - 216.93 million cubic meters at a price of $449.64 for $97.54 million, and in January 2022 - 206.77 million cubic meters at a price of $669.29 for $138.39 million. Thus, in total, about 732.38 million cubic meters of gas were consumed in Transnistria from October 2021 to January 2022 in the amount of $424.44 million. At the same time, as follows from the data, payment for this gas was not made, and thus, over the specified period, Transnistrian debt for Russian gas increased by another $424.44 million. Herewith, formally the debt is registered with the Moldovagaz company. According to some data, the debt of Tiraspoltransgaz for consumed natural gas exceeds $7 billion, and according to others - $8 billion.// 16.02.2022 — InfoMarket
