The office of the Energy Community was opened in Chisinau, Artur Lorkowski became its director
According to the EU Eastern Neighborhood portal, the Energy Community office in Chisinau is funded by the EU4Energy project and is staffed by a full-time senior energy expert who will support the Moldovan authorities in drafting legislation, providing professional advice and offering other day-to-day support under the leadership of the Community Secretariat. "The new office confirms the efforts of the Energy Community Secretariat to assist Moldova in modernizing its energy sector and making it more secure and resilient to current and future challenges," said Artur Lorkowski. He called it important to maintain the momentum of reforms for the benefit of all Moldovan citizens. Moldovan Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita said earlier that, being one of the most vulnerable countries in Europe in terms of energy security, Moldova needs the help of the Energy Community in overcoming growing energy problems and advancing in the field of energy security and decarbonization program. "This is critical to our economic, social and political stability," she said. Natalia Gavrilita added that the opening of an Energy Community office in Chisinau would strengthen the country's ability to cope with energy problems, which have recently been exacerbated by the war in Ukraine and high energy prices. // 06.04.2022 — InfoMarket
