For residential consumers in Moldova, the gas tariff for the first 150 cubic meters will not change, regardless of the decision of NAER on new tariffs.

This was stated by Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita at a Cabinet meeting on Wednesday. She noted that, regardless of the decision of the National Agency for Energy Regulation on the new tariff for natural gas requested by Moldovagaz and the new tariff approved by the energy regulator, for household consumers the tariff for the first 150 cubic meters of gas used in February and March will remain unchanged, as the difference in price will be covered by the compensation mechanism from the government. In particular, the head of the Cabinet specified that for the first 50 cubic meters of gas, domestic consumers will pay 6.8 lei per 1 cu. m., and for the next 100 cubic meters - 7.9 lei per 1 cubic meter. She called on citizens to save energy consumption whenever possible in order to receive lower bills. Natalia Gavrilita also noted that investments in energy efficiency will be a priority for the government. // 26.01.2022 — InfoMarket
