
More than 205.4 million lei will be allocated from Moldova's state budget in 2025 to provide free breakfasts to pupils of V-IX classes from September 1
Government approved the relevant decision. The program will be fully financed from the state budget and is a part of the Education Ministry's strategy and studies to improve conditions in schools. The approved new measure concerns about 153 thousand pupils and represents an expansion of the free meals program, which has so far been intended only for elementary school children. The support will also benefit pupils from vocational schools, sports schools, as well as pupils from the V-XII classes from the eastern Moldovan districts, Bender municipality and educational institutions located in the security zone. Also, the Cabinet decision provides for the approval of a procedure of ensuring the sanitary norms of foodstuffs intended for pupils.
