The Customs Service plans to organize waiting areas at the border and an electronic queue for trucks.

This was announced by the Deputy Director of the Customs Service Nicolae Vutcariov at the meeting with the representatives of the International Association of Road Hauliers of Moldova (AITA). The sides discussed solutions to optimize the conditions of crossing the state border through the customs checkpoints located at the border of Moldova, as well as ways to reduce the waiting time for cargo carriers. Nicolae Vutcariov recalled the initiative of the Customs Srvice to create special parking lots for trucks near the customs posts in the Northern, Central and Southern districts with the implementation of the electronic queue, as provided by international standards. This initiative is planned to be implemented in the near future with the support of national and international partners. He also said that the Customs Service is conducting a comprehensive study of the flow of cross-border traffic, which will serve as the basis for assessing the necessary capacity of waiting areas and the cost of their construction. Representatives of AITA, in their turn, supported the planned initiatives and outlined their priorities for them. The parties also discussed the implementation of the TIR Digital pilot project, which envisages exchange of electronic data between Moldova and Ukraine, excluding paper-based workflow. The project will facilitate the work of both competent state authorities at the border and businesses. // 16.02.2023 - InfoMarket.
