In Moldova, tax debts up to 100 lei will not be taken into account when opening bank accounts by a taxpayer.
This is provided by relevant amendments to the Tax Code, the introduction of which was approved by the government while issuing a positive opinion on the bill of MP Gheorghe Ichim. According to Finance Minister Dumitru Budianschi, the draft law aims to prevent the refusal of the State Tax Service to register a taxpayer and, respectively, to register bank accounts and/or payment accounts in case of unpaid tax liabilities to the national public budget in the amount up to 100 lei (inclusive). Thus, the amendments stipulate that the outstanding amount of tax liabilities up to and including 100 lei will not be considered debt to the national public budget in case of tax registration of the bank accounts and payment accounts. Thus, the country will facilitate access to services for business opening and registration of documents for opening and tax registration of bank accounts. The head of the Ministry of Finance noted that as a result of the implementation of the proposed amendments, it is projected to increase the revenues to the national public budget from taxes and fees generated by new businesses created by promoting fast and efficient access to starting a business. In addition, the mechanism of tax administration will be improved. // 02.09.2022 – InfoMarket
