Moldovan authorities plan to strengthen the National Vine and Wine Office, to intensify the promotion of wines and diversification of markets.

This was discussed at a meeting held by representatives of the wine sector with the Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Vladimir Bolea. The meeting touched upon vulnerabilities and prospects for the wine industry, in particular the dynamics of wine exports, market fluctuations, difficulties arising in the supply chain and the need for some legislative changes to strengthen the National Vine and Wine Office, the institution responsible for implementing state policy in the vine and wine sector. The head of the Ministry of Agriculture noted that the promotion of wines outside the country, the diversification of markets, improving the quality of wines, increasing the volume of production, the technologization of the industry and related industries are the key priorities of the sectoral agency. "Our attention should be focused on improving wine production technologies, and the mechanism by which the state can intervene in this regard is subsidization. The regulation of subsidies improves every year, and we continue to propose that the principles of state support are based on research and adapted to European practice. The investments will be used to develop irrigation systems, modernize post-harvest infrastructure and technologize enterprises," said Vladimir Bolea. // 05.09.2022 - InfoMarket
